6. Consolidation and Presentation

Summary of the Lesson

An honest old couple loved and cared for their pet dog. One day the dog helped them find hidden treasure. Their greedy neighbours borrowed the dog hoping to become rich, but when they failed, they killed it. Later, through dreams, the dog guided the good old man to make a magical mortar and later use its ashes to make withered trees blossom. The old man was rewarded by a prince for his good deeds. The greedy neighbours tried to imitate him but failed and were punished. Finally, they realized their mistake and changed their ways. The story teaches that kindness and honesty bring happiness, while greed and jealousy lead to trouble.
