in such a hurry!" – Alice
- "Go to my cottage and fetch my gloves and fan."
– White Rabbit
- "Oh no, I'll never get back to the right size."
– Alice
- "One side makes you big, the other side makes you
small." – Caterpillar
- "I'll see you later at the Queen's croquet
game." – Cheshire Cat
- "You may stay if you
answer my riddle." – Mad Hatter
- "Wake up. You've been sleeping for too long." – Alice's Sister
B. Discuss and Answer.
1.
Why did Alice
follow the rabbit?
Alice followed the rabbit because she was
curious about why he was in such a hurry and surprised to see him pulling out a
watch and talking.
2.
Do you think
this was a good idea?
Yes and no. It was a good idea because it
led to an adventurous and imaginative journey. But it was also risky, as she
entered an unknown world.
3.
Why can’t
Alice get through the little door into the garden?
Alice can’t get through the door because she
is too big. The door is only fifteen inches high.
4.
Why does
Alice drink from the bottle that says ‘DRINK ME’ and why does she eat from the
cake that says ‘EAT ME’?
Alice drinks and eats out of curiosity,
hoping it would help her fit through the little door or return to her normal
size.
5.
How does
Alice feel after all these changes?
Alice feels confused, curious, excited, and
at times frustrated or scared due to the constant changes in her size and
surroundings.
6.
What do you
think is going to happen next?
Alice might continue to explore more strange
places and meet new characters, but eventually, she may wake up and realize it
was all a dream.
C. Think and Answer.
- What challenges does Alice
face and how does she overcome them?
Alice faces many challenges like changing sizes, dealing with rude characters, and strange rules. She overcomes them using her bravery, curiosity, and problem-solving skills, even when she’s confused or scared. - Have you ever had a strange
dream? Share your dream in the class.
Yes, I once had a very strange dream that I still remember clearly! In my dream, I was flying on a giant pizza through the sky. The clouds were made of cotton candy, and there were ice cream mountains all around. Suddenly, a group of talking cats wearing sunglasses started chasing me on skateboards. I tried to escape by flying faster, but the pizza started melting! Just when I was about to fall, a unicorn appeared and caught me. It took me to a castle made of chocolate where I was crowned the king of Dreamland. Right then, my alarm rang and I woke up! It was such a weird and funny dream, but I kind of wish it was real!
G. Tackling the Issues
Ask the class to discuss
solutions to an issue that plagues contemporary society at large or just your
community—for example, homelessness, violence, environmental degradation,
hunger.
Half the class should mention
idealistic solutions to the chosen issue; the other half should mention only realistic approaches to solving the
problem.
See if, in listening to both
sides, someone can come up with a proposal that is both realistic and
unconventional—an idea that hasn't been tried yet.
Issue: Environmental
Degradation
One big problem that affects
the whole world today is environmental degradation. Pollution, cutting down too
many trees, and using too much plastic are harming nature. Our air, water, and
land are getting dirty, and animals are losing their homes. But we can do
something to fix this! First, we should plant more trees and protect forests.
Second, people should stop using plastic bags and bottles and use eco-friendly
things instead. Recycling is also important because it helps reduce waste. Even
kids like us can help by throwing garbage in the right bins and saving water
and electricity at home. If everyone works together, we can make the Earth
clean and green again!
PROJECT
H. Imagine you are a
marketing executive for a company in a specific industry (toothpaste, soup,
hair care products, automobiles, etc) and are developing a product with a brand
name that refers to a character from the story.
For example: You want to sell
bandages that have little pictures of Don Quixote on them. Your company’s name
is Kure-All and you decide to call them “Kure-All Quixote Bandages”.
The slogan might be: “Had a
tough day with windmills? When you take a fall, use Kure-All.”
You can use exciting words, a
catchy new slogan and a jingle among other things to promote sales of your
item.
