Discuss and Answer.

1.       Why did the train stop in the middle of the forest? The railway was not completed and yet to be laid down. So the train stopped in the middle of the forest.

2.       Why was Sir Francis angry? Tickets were booked from Bombay to Culcutta. But the railway was not completed. So Sir Francis was angry.

1. Which mode of transport did Fogg choose?Fogg chose to travel by elephant .

2. Did he hire Kiouni? Why? No, because the owner of the elephant did not accept the bargain.

3.   Why was the elephant owner happy with the deal? He sold the elephant at the excessive sum of 2000 pounds. So he was happy.

1. What qualities of Mr. Phileas Fogg are highlighted in this extract? Support your answer with suitable examples.

  Mr.Phileas Fogg was a rich English man and the member of the reform club. He was an adventurer ask he makes a bet with his fellow members of the club that he would travel around the World in 80 days. He was very punctual and perfect. He was very determined that he even went to the extent of purchasing the elephants to complete his task. These are all the qualities of Mr. Phileas Fogg highlighted in this extract.

The railway station buzzed with life as I waited for my delayed train. Vendors roamed around, their calls blending with the constant chatter of the crowd. Tea vendors weaved through the sea of people, balancing steaming kettles and tiny cups. Shops selling snacks, magazines, and travel essentials were bustling with customers. Families huddled together on benches, their children playing near piles of luggage that seemed to mark their temporary territory. Porters, dressed in their signature red uniforms, darted around, effortlessly maneuvering trolleys piled high with bags. The scroll board displayed updates, its blinking text occasionally drawing anxious glances from travelers. Overhead, announcements crackled, offering apologies for delays and directing passengers to platforms. The ticket counter queue snaked along, a mix of tired faces and hopeful anticipation, adding to the vibrant chaos of the station.

As the train was late  for an hour, I observed  many things in the railway station.   Some vendors  like somosa vendors and tea vendors were selling their things with loud voice. Some families with  their children eat their breakfast in the platform itself.  There is was a long queue standing in front of the ticket counter. There were some porters busy in carrying their luggages. Some passengers were  dragging their trollies . I could see the numbers of the train in the scroll board. At  last there was an announcement that  the train is arriving shortly.
