Unit -4  - Poem – A thing of Beauty -John Keats

Warm up

1. Do you admire the beauty of nature, animals, people, places or things? Discuss with your partner.

Yes, I admire the beauty of nature, animals, people, places, and things.
I love watching trees sway in the wind and birds fly in the sky. Animals are cute and friendly, and they make me happy. People show love and care, which is also very beautiful. I enjoy visiting new places like mountains and beaches. Even small things like flowers and butterflies are full of beauty.

Poem

A thing of beauty is a Joy forever

Its loveliness increases it will never

Pass into nothingness; but will keep

A bower quite for us and a sleep

Full of sweet dreams and health and quite breathing

Therefore on every morrow are we wreathing

A flowery band to bind us to the Earth

Some shape of beauty moves away the pall

From our dark spirits. Such the Sun, the Moon

Trees old and young sprouting a shady boon

For simple sheep and; and such are daffodils

With the green world they live in and clear rills

That for themselves a cooling covert make

‘Gainst the hot season; the mid forest brake,

Rich with a sprinkling of fair musk- rose blooms;

An endless fountain of immortal drink,

Pouring unto us from the heaven’s brink
