A. Read the following statements. Say True or False.

There, he was captured by tiny people called Lilliputians, who tied him down. After some time, they realized he was not a threat, and he helped them defeat a neighboring kingdom, Blefuscu, by dragging their fleet of ships. He became a hero and lived peacefully in Lilliput.


E. Think and answer.

  1. How did Gulliver overcome the adversity?

    • Gulliver overcame adversity by using his swimming skills to survive after the shipwreck, showing patience when captured by the Lilliputians, and using his strength to help them in their time of need.

  2. How should one react to adversity?

    • One should stay calm, think clearly, and use available resources or strengths to overcome the challenges. Patience and adaptability are key in dealing with difficult situations.

  3. Describe Gulliver’s encounter with the army of Blefuscu.

    • When the Lilliputians were attacked by the Blefuscu army, Gulliver helped by dragging all the enemy ships together with a rope. He pulled them around the sea for the whole day until the Blefuscu army became dizzy and disoriented, forcing them to ask for peace.
