1. Learning Objectives
The teacher expects the students to:

3. Introduction
The teacher may begin the lesson by asking the following questions:
Who is the oldest member in your family?
How do you help your grandparents or elderly relatives?
Why should we respect old people?
Have you ever received good advice from your grandparents?
Can experience be more valuable than physical strength?
The teacher links the students' responses to the lesson and introduces the story "The Aged Mother."

6. Consolidation and Presentation (Summary)
The story tells about a poor farmer who deeply loves his aged mother. When the cruel governor orders all old people to be abandoned, the son takes his mother to the mountain with great sorrow. Even in her difficult situation, the mother thinks only about her son's safety and leaves piles of twigs to guide him back home. Unable to leave her, the son secretly hides her. Later, when the governor demands a rope made of ashes, the mother wisely suggests making a straw rope and burning it carefully. The governor realizes the value of the elderly and abolishes the cruel law. The story teaches us that wisdom comes with age and that we should always love and respect our elders.
