3. Introduction
The teacher introduces the lesson by asking the following questions:

Tom Sawyer became unhappy because his friend Becky Thatcher stopped coming to school. Aunt Polly tried many medicines and treatments to cure him, but nothing worked. Tom pretended to enjoy taking painkiller so that he could pour it into a crack on the floor. One day, he gave the medicine to Aunt Polly's cat, Peter. The cat behaved wildly and created complete chaos. Aunt Polly became angry but later realized that forcing medicines on Tom might have been cruel. She understood Tom's feelings and decided not to trouble him anymore. The story ends humorously and teaches kindness, understanding and love.
